These Three Lions Brownies combine butter, golden syrup, dark chocolate, and sugar into a rich mixture, enhanced with Lion bars and rice crispies for texture. The brownies are baked until firm and are ideal for cooling overnight for easy cutting.
 Pre-heat the oven to 180C/160C Fan/Gas 4.
In a saucepan, combine butter, golden syrup, and caster sugar over medium heat, stirring until melted and dissolved.
Remove from heat and add chopped dark chocolate and vanilla extract; let it melt for a few minutes.
Chop the Lion bars into pieces and set aside.
Once chocolate is smooth, whisk in the eggs until thick and velvety.
Sift in plain flour in batches, gently folding each batch in until just combined.
Fold in rice crispies and Lion bar pieces.
Pour mixture into a lined 20cm square baking tin and bake for 25-30 minutes until firm but slightly sticky with a skewer.
Cool completely in the tin; refrigerate for a few hours or ideally overnight before cutting.
